PILLAR 1: SUSTAINABILITY & ENVIRONMENT

Algorithms optimize extraction. AI shapes consumption patterns. Kids and teens growing up in AI-integrated systems need direct understanding of natural systems, not mediated through screens. Direct connection to ecosystems builds the resilience younger generations need: nervous system regulation from algorithmic overstimulation, resistance to simplified narratives through systems thinking, and genuine agency rooted in understanding how the world actually works. When children understand living systems through direct observation, not screens, they develop ecological literacy that algorithms can't teach. They learn that their actions matter, that understanding systems reveals where they have real power to create change, and that resilience comes from roots: deep connections to place, community, and the natural world that sustain us.
